This site was contaminated by poor quality fill associated with the historical reclamation of the False Creek flats. Core6 Environmental completed a Stage 1 Preliminary Site Investigation, Data Gap Assessment, and Detailed Site Investigation (DSI) to facilitate future development for social housing by a First Nation developer.
A remedial plan was developed that included the excavation of metal-impacted soils and the stabilization of leachable lead through the addition of cement.
This approach allowed for the project to proceed while providing significant cost savings to the City of Vancouver.
