Core6 Environmental was retained by the SNC Lavalin Constructors/SLEI Canada Inc Joint Venture (SSJV) to be their Environmental Coordinator during the construction of the tunnel section of the Evergreen Skytrain Line from Port Moody to Coquitlam, BC.
The client’s main objective for this project was to complete the bored tunnel section of the Evergreen Line while maintaining compliance with statutory and project-specific environmental requirements and specifications. Core6 Environmental as the Environmental Coordinator, developed and implemented the Environmental Protection Plan, developed Environmental Work Plans, monitored compliance for SSJV, and attended regular meetings with the proponent, provincial regulators, and the Environmental Manager.
Core6 Environmental provided environmental monitor training in particularly sensitive environmental areas, and prepared and represented SSJV in environmental audits, including following up on compliance matters. Core6 also obtained a Waste Discharge Permit on behalf of SSJV for the onsite treatment plant and fulfilled the discharge sampling and reporting requirements for reporting to Metro Vancouver.
